Day 4

This morning (early morning), I listened to music and read a few chapters of the book I'm currently reading (Michael Crichton's State of Fear). I also took an extra nap since I felt cheated on yesterday's naps. It's interesting that when I have awakened from the last few naps, it has felt like much more than 30 minutes. I suppose it is part of my body adapting to the schedule.

While I feel much more alert and capable with each passing day, I am still nowhere close to feeling continuously rested. I feel drowsy at times during the day, usually between the hours of 4 and 6 a.m. (times that I am never mentally active). After awakening from a nap at 6:30 a.m., I attempted a crossword for a few minutes. I'm going to do some sort of brain exercise every day during the times I am most tired, to try to train my brain to be active during those times.

I know I'm getting psychologically accustomed to this new schedule. I am at the point now where I become mildly annoyed if I'm unable to nap as planned in the middle of the day!
